The Register put it better than I could put it

World shrugs as IPv4 addresses finally exhausted

  1. Nate,

getting some modest but useful allocs* from RIPE still. But it’s way more pape than it used to be. My “nano” ISP just happens to be a hot independant RIR delegate, true trenches guys, who engineer their own transit facing routers at big peering points, so they’re believed! My prob is use case is stretched out on plan. Yeah, my ISP rolled out v6 over tunnels ten years ago, gotta love ’em 🙂

Gotta love too that London metro internet has run out of duct space, backhaul rings, power, and sanity. But you’d love it here!

    keep it up,

    – john

*means i need a transit router to announce the aggregate, might be asking you yet!

  2. When i said “engineer”, they built the boxes from boards up. No slouches. Just wanted to differentiate between the “Cisco Certified” kind of engineering and the hardware DIY but seriously kind. They eat their own dog food, lot of customers hanging off those, me included.
